Kieran is a composer who delights in experimenting with sound, blending the acoustic and electronic worlds to create nuanced vivid sonic landscapes. Music has always been an integral part of his life. Growing up in Ireland, he was steeped in Irish traditional music from an early age, while also studying classical piano and violin, and spent much of his childhood performing.

 

Awarded a scholarship to study at ​University College Cork​ by composer ​Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin,​ he went on to work with some of the biggest names in Irish music. First coming to prominence with the legendary​ Shane MacGowan​, and the family band ​The Corrs​, he became a long term collaborator of ​Sinéad O'Connor​ and a host of international stars such as the Eurythmics ​Dave Stewart​, the Fugees Wyclef Jean​ and Fleetwood Mac's Stevie Nicks.

Composing music in the world of film and TV, recent projects include The House Across the Street starring Shirley Henderson, the anthology feature Immortal starring Dylan Baker and Tony Todd, the romantic comedy Finding You starring Vanessa Redgrave and Katherine McNamara, the upcoming comedy Food Fight starring Billy Zane and Jonathan Rhys Meyers, and Vardy v Rooney: A Courtroom Drama starring Michael Sheen and Natalia Tena.

With an eclectic background, exploring innumerable genres, forms and sounds, Kieran’s music takes the listener on an evocative cinematic journey.
